Your wedding, your way
With the Pandemic derailing wedding plans since 2020, the next few years look set to be a busy time for couples celebrating...
New Gloucestershire ready meal business The Wild Hare wins 3 stars from The Great Taste awards. Founder and managing director Dominie Fearn (pictured) is passionate about the circular economy and creating ready meals from ingredients sourced in the UK. She tells us, " we champion regenerative agricultural principles within our supply chain and are working towards challenging all the convenience sector. We use British where we can but also understand farming practices. Biodiversity of the land (the hare is a perfect symbol of this) is what we all have to work to if we are going to secure the best future we can. We support British farming and continual improvement to the land."
Offering the new sustainable range, The Wild Hare's Chicken Dhal was the winner and is the only ready meal to be awarded a coveted 3 stars in the 2020 Great Taste awards. Out of 12,777 products sent into the award scheme, The Wild Hare's British Free Range Chicken Dhal with ginger, lemon and spinach came top of the ready meals with the comment: "Bravo - probably the best ready meal curry we've ever had. We tried hard to conjure up some advice as to how this could be improved but couldn't find fault. The lentils have retained a delightful bite, the chicken is clearly of superb quality and the spinach is fresh and bright. Wonderful from the appearance and aroma, right through to the long, balanced heat of the finish."
Dominie founded the Wild Hare Group four years ago and uses only British-reared meats and poultry, British-grown pulses and grains and vegetables (when available). The meals are ideal for a self-catering minimoon in the region, a staycation pre-wedding weekend away or a hen party at home with good friends, good food and good wine.
