Professional make-up artist and hair stylist Nadezhda Hardiman unveils skincare regime for brides-to-be.
She tells us how following a strict skincare regime delivers fantastic results. "It’s scientifically proven that cleansing your face twice a day with a cleanser selected for your skin type, followed by the application of a good quality moisturiser is key," she says. "Gentle exfoliation twice a week is also a must."
She advises that starting with cleanser, make sure the product is recommended for your skin type. If it feels very dry straight after using it then that’s an indication of the product being too harsh for you. The feeling after using a quality cleanser must be comfortable with skin looking refreshed and glowing.
She says, "Always use a toner after cleansing which lots of people think isn’t necessary. It regulates the PH of your skin and is important if you’re battling with dry or oily skin or spots. Follow with a moisturiser. I recommend making sure it contains an SPF and is oil-free. Exfoliate with a gentle scrub and use a face mask once a week containing clay, but make sure you wash it off as soon as it’s getting dry. You might want to consider a face peel but apply it before bed to avoid being in the sun directly afterwards."
Finally, if you battle with pigmentation, spots or other skin conditions, Nadezhda recommends using a serum that works on particular areas of concern.
