The Old Bell Hotel in Wiltshire voted the best in the UK
The Muddy Stilettos Awards are renowned for celebrating the 'best of the best', with readers all over the country voting for their favourite businesses within 28 counties, with only those winners making it through to the prestigious national finals.
Having won their regional final, The Old Bell Hotel was then chosen by an expert editorial team as the national winner of the Best Hotel/Inn category, solidifying the hotel as one of the UK's most idyllic and sought-after getaway spots - a quintessential Cotswolds bolthole.
Set in the chocolate box borough of Malmesbury, Wiltshire, The Old Bell Hotel first opened its doors over 800 years ago, in 1220. These days however, expect to be delighted by its spectacularly unique and stylish interiors following its top-to-toe refurbishment in 2021 by its owners Kim Hanks and her husband, renowned antiques dealer and collector, Whit Hanks. The hotel boasts 34 exquisite bedrooms, each individually designed and furnished with colourful wallcoverings as well as two stunning bar concepts – the 1220 bar and the fabulous, terraced aviary-like Tyger Bar.
The on-site fine dining restaurant, Abbey Row, is headed up by their ever-talented and multi-award-winning Executive Chef, Leigh Evans. With hyper-seasonal and local ingredients being his biggest inspiration, Leigh has the privilege of working directly with The Old Bell Hotel's gardeners who grow much of the kitchen's produce from their stunning kitchen garden at Abbey House Manor.
Kim Hanks, owner of the The Old Bell Hotel, commented: "We are over the moon with this recent honour. The hospitality from our staff really matches what a jewel of a hotel we have in the Cotswolds."
