February/March 2021

With the new year in full swing and Easter just around the corner, this is a popular time for proposals. After the uncertainty of 2020, spring is almost upon us bringing with it the milder temperatures, lighter evenings and green shoots. Plenty of you might be planning to marry this year having been locked down with your loved one and realising that you don't want to be apart from them so this new-season issue is crammed full of real-life wedding inspiration, expert advice from local suppliers, staycation honeymoons and beautiful bridal fashion.

If like me, you can't wait to spoil your mum this Mother's Day (which falls on my birthday this year) then check out our website and social channels for great ideas on how to spoil her, from fabulous flowers to beauty products. Wishing you all a chocolate (and shoe-filled) Easter and I'll see you next issue!

Tewkesbury Park

This country house hotel set in 164 acres is surrounded by panoramic views of the countryside and the historic town of Tewkesbury, and home to a relaxing spa and renowned golf course. The luxurious property is decorated in relaxing hues of blue, teal and gold inviting guests to chill out.

The new Rose Garden, set to open this summer, provides the ideal setting for an al fresco drinks reception. When restrictions lift, the glassed-fronted wedding suite wows guests with views while the Berkeley Bar terrace with its glass railings and heaters is perfect for late-night drinks and pizzas cooked live by the talented chefs in the wood-fired oven.

The property is suited to micro wedding ceremonies of up to 20 guests in the Duke of Gloucester Suite, and an intimate gathering of up to 30 loved ones in the Broadway, Burford and Bibury Suites. Larger ceremonies are held in the Cotswold Suite with its statement chandeliers and colour-change LED lighting which is also where receptions take place. It can be divided into three smaller spaces if required.

Adam Denton is the owner and managing director of Silverbird Entertainment based in Oxfordshire providing tribute acts, live bands and DJ hire throughout the region aswell as Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, Wiltshire and Gloucestershire. He tells us, "when working with clients planning their big-day entertainment, I like to get to know them and the type of wedding they are planning so I ask them a few questions to start. Why have they chosen their particular wedding theme? Do they want their guests to be dressed in the chosen style and how many guests are they expecting? The trend for micro weddings at the moment doesn't mean that entertainment has to be on a small scale – we offer everything from solo singers to a full seven-piece band.
