The Cheltenham Festival 2022 is set to take place this month from 15th - 18th March and Michelin-star restaurant Le Champignon Sauvage located in this historic spa town is welcoming diners. The award-winning establishment is owned and run by David Everitt-Matthias and his wife Helen and David's many awards reflect the esteem in which he is held as a chef. His food is a cross between the terroir and modern French with very original touches. The menu changes seasonally with great care taken to source the finest local ingredients and highlights include miso-glazed monkfish and roasted Cotswold lamb chump.
Spring finally arrives on the first Tuesday of the festival where spectators will enjoy the first race followed by four days of fun! It's the perfect way to celebrate a stylish hen gathering or stag day out. The 28 races that make up the Cheltenham Festival 2022 are the most hotly contested of the entire racing calendar, with around 500 horses competing for more than £6.12 million which competes only with the Grand National.
