How do you make your wedding stand out among the masses? By analysing Instagram hashtags, Protectivity Insurance has revealed some of the quirkiest wedding venues in Britain to enjoy your big day.

Planning a wedding can be a job in itself, from the venue to the flowers and the table plan, to keeping your guests and your other half happy. How do you pick a venue that is unique and your guests haven't already been to several times over? Well, we've done some digging into the quirkiest venues around Britain for your big day. With an average of 80 million photos uploaded every single day, Instagram is one of the most popular online platforms for photo sharing, and with your wedding day being one of the most important days of your life, it comes as no surprise that the wedding hashtag has been used over 125 million times.

Using a number of seed lists for different and quirky wedding locations across Britain, Protectivity Insurance has analysed a selection of venues on Instagram to discover which ones are the most popular.

So, if your looking to move away from a traditional venue like a church or hotel, and want somewhere that offers something a little different to feast your eyes on, explore some of the best unusual venues in our interactive map here.

Britain is home to some spectacular wedding venues in beautiful locations from Cornwall to Kirklington in Yorkshire to, of course, our beloved capital city. But how many times have these "quirky" wedding venues been hashtagged for those tying the knot?

The top five most popular quirky venues are:
1 Barbican Centre East London
2 Pinewood Studios Iver Heath
3 Dreamland Margate Kent
4 Castell Coch Cardiff, Wales
5 Hedingham Castle Essex

It may come as no surprise, that whilst being a unique venue to host your wedding, the Barbican Centre in London came top with over fifty thousand hashtags, with couples enjoying the tropical feel and central location. It's the glamorous Pinewood Studios that takes second spot. As home to some of the world's most popular movies, it's understandable that couples would want to book the venue for their special day. At the bottom of the list, the venues are equally interesting and beautiful with the likes of The Pines Calyx on the East Kent Coastline and The Old Parish Rooms in Essex attracting couples across the country.

From caves to windmills and abandoned chapels, there really is something different in here for everyone to stand out among the masses.
Sean Walsh, marketing manager from Protectivity Insurance comments: "Your wedding day is a day to be remembered, and your venue should be too. The venue is extremely important, as ultimately if something goes wrong with your venue, or it's not quite right, it can have a huge impact on your big day. It's great to see people exploring beyond the norms to make their day that extra bit special"
