Hair and make-up artist Sarah White reveals trends for summer weddings
Sarah has more than 17 years' experience working in weddings, tv, film and fashion. Some of her most memorable jobs include working on the set of Pride & Prejudice and Casanova. She tells us, "Many beauty industry experts predict that 2021 will focus on lightweight foundations after months of being relatively make-up free during the lockdown period and having to wear face coverings. It will have inspired many brides-to-be to adopt a more natural look without the desire or need for heavy foundation coverage."
Sarah adds, "Make-up trends for this coming year include placing more emphasis on the eyes with a smoky look but still achieving a fresh, classic feel that will look fab in photographs. Black eyeliner is a staple and so are statement long lashes emphasised with mascara. Hair is all about a casual, bohemian look with loose waves, undone braids and messy pigtails. For a touch of Hollywood glamour, loose buns and chignons offer a relaxed up do and other popular styles are short twist braids and small box braids - think natural textured unstructured hair."
