Owner Corinna Rae tells us, "Burleigh Court is a 200-year old romantic country house hotel set within a Grade II listed manor in the Cotswolds. It's nestled within three acres of lush gardens with panoramic views across Gloucestershire's Golden Valley and within easy reach of idyllic market towns including Nailsworth, Painswick and Tetbury. Guests opting to hold their big day with us will enjoy a captivating experience of country charm with a splash of luxury served by a warm and welcoming team. We have 18 rooms available within five categories (Classic, Cosy, Superior, Noteworthy and Romantic) across the Manor House and the adjacent Coach House."
She continues, "We’ve also been working hard renovating and modernising many of the hotel's features, rooms and public areas. Retaining the manor’s heritage and character was important to us so we incorporated traditional materials, country colours, and tasteful designs to each area of the property. Some family heirlooms have found a place too."
Corinna and her husband James are proud of the culinary offering at Burleigh Court. She tells us, "We have a two AA-rosette restaurant which focuses on serving local produce that is full of quality and flavour sourced from within a 30-mile radius of the hotel under the direction of head chef Shaun Jones. The team also grow produce in the kitchen garden. For our ‘Weddings at Burleigh Court’ packages, Shaun has created a series of thoughtfully designed menus, however he’s also very happy to work with couples to create a bespoke offering to fit with their personal palettes. Our wine cellar boasts a wide array of wines from around the globe to include a choice of high quality organic and vegan options."
On the subject of the new bridal and honeymoon suite. Corinna tells us, "a bright and tastefully decorated room, suite will house a Samsung Frame TV which will feature art when not being used as a television."For couples looking to honeymoon in the region, Burleigh Court offers a truly romantic and secluded hideaway with the added benefit of being within easy reach of a wide range of activities and attractions. These include the beautiful Westonbirt Arboretum (a 24-minute drive), Cheltenham Racecourse (39 minutes away by car), Cotswold Alpaca Walking (an 11-minute drive), and wine tasting at Woodchester Vineyard (just 11 minutes away).
After a day out exploring the local area, newlyweds staying overnight can return to the hotel, enjoy an in-room massage treatment before dinner and then head to the oak-panelled restaurant to enjoy a delicious three-course meal. Afterwards, there’s the option to snuggle up on the outdoor terrace, perfect for a summer's evening to relax by the firepits.
