Outdated wedding laws need to change
In an article earlier this year there was discussion and praise aimed towards the Government's plans to allow...
The Gathering Barn, a converted wedding barn oozing character and rustic charm, boasts spectacular views of an ancient yew tree wood, fields and gardens, and a paddock is available for outdoor games and camping. There's also luxurious accommodation on-site that sleeps up to eight guests.
Set around a pretty south-facing courtyard complete with atmospheric outdoor lighting in a rural location on the rolling Wiltshire Downs, ceremonies take place in a choice of places. There's the Long Barn for up to 120 loved ones with its loft floor level and statement chandeliers, and the Middle Barn suitable for up to 110 guests with its beamed ceiling and stone floors. Both work well for the wedding breakfast with guests seated at long or round tables and the entire venue can be used for the evening party. It's a good year-round choice with winter weddings enjoying the underfloor heating throughout and the wood burner.
The site also generates its own electricity and recycles where possible. There's a bar, lounge, toilets including disabled facilities plus a catering kitchen that can be used by any supplier (subject to approval). Outdoor food vehicles are also welcome and there's no corkage charge.
