Gloucestershire-based bridal dress designer Jan Knibbs @Atelier 19 located at the Well Walk Tea Room in Cheltenham unveils trends for the coming season.
She specialises in couture embroidery and creates one-off garments and accessories, in particular fairytale, bohemian-style pieces. Jan tells us how brides are now, and she predicts for the year ahead, opting for sustainable and ethical gowns more and more when choosing their wedding dress. "I now specialise in customising and embellishing for my label Something old...Something new and often this incorporates embroidery of their favourite flowers. Brides are also more interested in making their dress or accessories more personal and unique to them, so I offer various ways of achieving this, ranging from incorporating vintage treasures that may have belonged to a relative, to adding embroidered lines from a sentimental poem or a favourite song."
