Heather Card Makeup Artistry who covers weddings in both Wiltshire and Gloucestershire looks ahead to summer and unveils her top skincare tips and advice for the wedding season. She says, "good skincare ensures easy make-up application with staying power so I can't stress enough the importance of caring for your skin all year round, but especially in the months leading up to the big day.
Wearing a product containing an SPF is an essential step to help prevent premature ageing. Don't wear this on your actual wedding day though, because it can it can cause a flashback effect in the professional photographs.
If your skin is dry then choose products containing natural oils that will help replenish the natural moisture seal. For oily skin, use a moisturiser made with natural oils because it will hydrate the skin making it less likely to produce excess oil. It's always best to apply a moisturiser straight after showering when skin is already hydrated.
Skin that's prone to acne will benefit from products that don't contain alcohol or fragrances because this can irritate it, stripping it of its natural oil.
Don't expect overnight miracles – it will take a month or two in order to start seeing the benefits, and your skin will need that time to adjust."
