Make-up artist and hair stylist Leah Toomey based in Wiltshire reveals tips for skincare during winter and which make-up products to try. She says, "the most important step before applying any make-up is preparing your skin. During winter, it tends to be dryer, so it's very important to keep it hydrated. Don't overload it with products, simply add an item to your daily regime that's more hydrating."She continues, "you might think that waterproof products are only for use in the summer but they are just as important in the colder months. A harsh wind can make your eyes watery so using waterproof mascara is recommended.

It's important that your eyes and lips complement one another. A strong red or mauve lipstick can look stunning. It works well with a white bridal dress and a potential snowy backdrop. If you don't usually wear bold colours then experiment with your chosen shade a week or two ahead of the wedding. A stronger lipstick will need some maintenance throughout the day.

Add a subtle shimmer or a very light dusting of glitter to your eyelids. If you aren't brave enough to try a bold lip then stick to a neutral shade and select a soft rose or gold eye shadow.

Try a variety of lip colours to find the one that suits you. Why not opt for a subtle shade for the ceremony and a bolder one for the evening reception?"
