Gemma and Alex's fun celebrations took place at the stunning Elmore Court and featured lots of personal touches.
Gemma Petrides, 31, married Alex Goodenough, 31, at St. John the Baptist Church, Elmore, on 17th March, 2018, followed by a reception at Elmore Court in Gloucestershire.
We needed a venue that could accommodate a wedding party of 170 guests and were so excited when we came across Elmore Court online. As soon as we visited the venue, we knew it was for us and booked the first available Saturday.
We had a Bollywood-themed car that was decorated with flowers and so much fun to arrive at the church in!
Our church service was so special. We turned to each other at the same time and said afterwards how much our cheeks were both hurting from smiling so much.
We decided to gift the ladies at our wedding with scented candles from Elizabeth Scarlett and also offered our guests Loukoumi. This is a biscuit cake filled with pistachios that is a traditional Cypriot wedding favour.
We chose a delicious vegan cake made by Flamingo's Vegan Bakery in Cheltenham. Their trial cakes were so tasty, so we asked them to make a three-tier design that we served to guests alongside a cake of cheese made by the team at Elmore Court.
We had four long tables at our wedding so named them after four foreign words that had special meanings to us as a couple. We fed our guests with delicious sharing platters placed down the centre of the tables.
Our flowers looked so beautiful. We briefed our florist that we wanted lots of colour and for the blooms to look fun, so she really went to town with them. The church and car looked amazing decorated with all the vibrant colours.
The venue looked so beautiful and didn't need much added decoration, but we did have a photograph board, wooden signs dotted around and stunning flowers hanging from the walls.
My lacy, bohemian-style dress was the most beautiful thing I have ever worn, and I wish I could wear it every day. I initially saw it online and then travelled to the bridal boutique to try it on.
We chose Jam Hot as our wedding band. They played during the drinks reception and made our evening party incredible fun. Between their sets, their DJ put on some Greek music for my (Gemma's) family, which resulted in our guests dancing on chairs and even each other's shoulders. It was a brilliant atmosphere!
I teamed my dress with a beautiful bouquet and flower crown made especially for me by our florist, Amber. It was so exciting to see what she had created on the morning of our wedding.
Our bridesmaids wore a choice of two different pink dress styles from Whistles and asos.com
Alex wore a suit from Hackett teamed with a Liberty-print tie. We chose different ties for the ushers, which they wore with their own suits. And we had little bow ties made for the pageboys that matched Alex's tie.
We lit some sparklers outside as it got dark, which was such a romantic thing to do.
