The family farm was the perfect setting for Rebecca and Tom's country-vibe wedding

After four years together Thomas Brown popped the question to Rebecca Rex on her birthday in 2013. “It was a Sunday in November and he'd arranged for all of our closest friends and family to get together for a roast in our local pub,” recalls Rebecca. “He was acting suspicious that day, little did I know he'd asked my dad's permission that morning and proposed in front of everyone. It was a total surprise.”

The happy couple tied the knot on 11th July, 2015, at Cold Ashton Church, followed by a reception at the family farm Beeks Farm.

We both wanted something relaxed incorporating the farm. I thought tipis were really cool and they created the perfect atmosphere for our wedding. As there was no accommodation on the farm we provided a glamping village with lots of beautiful bell tents.

The church service really stood out for me, especially when Tom and I were signing the register the choir performed Eva Cassidy Songbird – I cried.

Rural romance: Image 3aThe table names were printed on brown card and hung with a small peg along a line of string to create a table plan – in keeping with the rustic theme.

Tom wanted to wear something different to his groomsmen so he wore a three-piece, light grey checked suit by GUIDE London. His groomsmen all wore two-piece navy suits with shoes of their choice and a bottle green tie and matching pocket square. Tom's grandparents are Irish so we wanted to include this colour somewhere.

We were both really relaxed on the day, I thought I'd be really nervous but I was fine and I was so excited to get to the church and see Tom. We made time to have a drink alone and take in the day. I'm glad we did because looking back it went by so quickly.

Rural romance: Image 6aOur centrepieces were slices of wood surrounded by small jars, tea light candles and flowers. We also had the table numbers in a smaller version standing on each table.

Rural romance: Image 6 We managed to find a lot of old milk churns so we bought them back to life with a bit of cleaning and filled them with flowers leading the way into the field. And we had hay bales galore!

I wore La SPOSA's Idde in ivory tulle with lace appliqué, and accessorised with a simple pearl bracelet that I borrowed from a friend and matching earrings. I had a small bundle of fresh gypsophila flowers in the back of my hair.

The bridesmaids wore Claudia by Ghost in colour Boudoir Pink which suited all of their colourings and shapes. The girls really loved them.

Rural romance: Image 9aThe bridesmaids had simple bouquets of gypsophila fastened with twine. My bouquet was very natural-looking, using spray roses, peonies and hydrangea.

Rural romance: Image 9 We had handmade bunting incorporating the colour palette of the wedding hung across the three tipis, the entrance way and the bar.

“Our best man's speech by Thomas Church was very funny and had everyone in fits of laughter; my father's speech was also very good and had everyone in tears, of the emotional kind.” – Rebecca

Rural romance: Image 11aOur cake was a three-tiered naked cake with layers of fresh berries and a clotted cream and jam filling.

Rural romance: Image 11 We had a live band – which my dad is a member of – that performed lots of Irish classics chosen by Tom. We also had a DJ who played lots of dancefloor hits into the early hours of the morning.

Our photographer Mark was brilliant and made our day really enjoyable – the pictures are beautiful.
