Charlotte and James met on Tinder and both wanted a long-term relationship. "We were attracted to one another because of our similar interests," Charlotte tells us.
The couple became engaged during a surprise proposal after 18 months of dating. "I knew that James had purchased the ring," Charlotte tells us. "He asked me at home by playing my favourite song from the Disney movie Tangled and getting down on one knee. It was a wonderful moment!"
Here, Charlotte tells us more about their special day at Manor by the Lake in Cheltenham.
My bridal bouquet was stunning. It was a teardrop design featuring red roses and fuchsias and our florist, Lynda, added in my great granddad's signet ring as my something old.
Our cake was delicious. It featured sponge and caramel sponge layers and was decorated with flowers similar to those in our bouquets
We wanted a traditional wedding with a burgundy and white colour scheme to suit the season so Manor by the Lake was the ideal backdrop for this.
I kept my accessories to a minimum to really show off my dress. I wore a pair of red shoes to tie in with our colour theme.
Our table names incorporated our love of musicals with each one named after a show. The place names were hand-written and put next to a menu.
My dress was the style Sienna by Phil Collins Bridal. From a young age, I knew that I wanted to wear a princess-style gown with a sweetheart neckline so this dress was exactly what I wanted.
James looked so handsome in his grey morning suit by Ted Baker. He teamed it with a burgundy cravat and a grey waistcoat.
Our bridesmaids wore long chiffon dresses and my maid-of-honour wore the same style but in a light grey shade. They were all very happy and looked so beautiful
We hired a pianist to play while our guests were walking into our ceremony. For the reception, we opted for a DJ who played songs requested by our guests to encourage everyone to get up and dance!
