April/May 2020

April/May 2020

Even though we are in a period of lockdown, it's finally spring and the flowers are budding, the sun is shining, and the days are warming up. I am taking full advantage of my one-hour session of exercise each day, and heading out into the park and along the seafront, close to my home, to enjoy these simple things for myself. I am not rushing, or driving as I would normally be at the time of day I have been taking my stroll, instead stopping to photograph the pink blossom on the trees (my favourite colour) and marvel at the Insta-worthy blue sea (I'm a Pisces so have always loved being near water).

If you're planning your wedding for later this year, I hope you, too, are taking some time out to enjoy life's simple pleasures, like having more time to plan your day to perfection. You'll love this!

Until next issue...

Grittleton House

This stunning wedding and events venue is located on the edge of the Cotswolds. The historic manor house is accessed via a tree-lined driveway and sits in 36 acres of formal grounds that include a pretty Italian Sunken Garden, overlooked by the impressive orangery.

It’s home to newly refurbished bedrooms, many original features including decorative high ceilings and original fireplaces, and a sweeping staircase, perfect for wedding photographs. There’s also a large ballroom, a cosy library, and an elegant drawing room ideal for the bridal party to get ready in on the morning of the wedding.

Ceremonies take place in a variety of beautiful spaces including the Yellow and Red Galleries, each holding up to 180 guests. The Orangery seats between 50 and 400 guests, depending on layout, and the Library Well holds up to 80 guests. The sun-drenched terrace is an ideal al fresco location in summer, overlooking the Italian Sunken Garden.

The wedding breakfast and evening reception also take place in a choice of these function areas and there’s also the option of a marquee in the grounds.
